It was a very happy CANADA DAY for Edmonton’s “Wayne Gretzky of Canadian Backgammon” Mr. MARIUS NEAMTU. He has won the CANADIAN CUP at the 1st Canadian Backgammon Federation Championship event in Montréal, Québec. Felicitări!

Second place was won by Mr. Robert Robitaille of Timmins, Ontario. A surprisingly adept player, he emerged from out of the field demonstrating a marked talent for the game winning almost all his matches. This valiant effort has earned him a permanent place in Canadian Backgammon history as the first recipient of the O’Cannabis Cup. Congratulations Bob !
